This informative one hour seminar will discuss how industry is meeting the challenges from an increase in financial sanctions and the obligations imposed from the regulations around EMIR.

Conor O’Donnell, Senior Compliance Manager, The Citco Group of Companies will discuss what sanctions are, clearly outlining firm obligations, the role of the Central Bank and other agencies and potential challenges ahead for firms.

Niamh Lynn, Manager of the EMIR Unit within the Securities and Markets Supervision Division at the Central Bank of Ireland will discuss CBI observations on EMIR Reporting and Risk Mitigation Techniques for non-centrally cleared derivatives. Niamh will also comment on new challenges coming from the implementation of the new initial/variation margins and central clearing requirements.

Conor O’Donnell, Senior Compliance Manager at The Citco Group of Companies
Conor is a member of the ACOI. Conor is Senior Compliance Manager with Citco Group of Companies and is the MLRO for Citco Fund Services (Ireland) Limited. Conor has worked in the financial services industry for nearly 25 years, the last 15 in Compliance, Risk and MLRO roles. Conor has a Master’s Degree in Economics from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. Conor is a founding member of the ACOI Funds Working Group and acted as Chair 2013 to 2015.

 

Niamh Lynn, Manager of EMIR Unit, Securities and Markets Supervision Division Central Bank of Ireland
Niamh Lynn is the manager on the EMIR Unit within the Securities and Markets Supervision Division at the Central Bank of Ireland having previously held several supervisory roles within the Markets Directorate of the Central Bank. Niamh represents the Central Bank at the ESMA Markets Data Standing Committee which focuses on enhancing the quality of market data reported to EU National Authorities and Trade Repositories and ensuring consistency between reporting regimes.

Niamh previously worked in middle office and operation divisions of several large investment banks in both London and Toronto. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin, an MSc in Finance from University of London and a Diploma in Applied Financial Law from the Law Society Dublin.
