This morning seminar will seek to replicate the success of the 2018 seminar on Data Subject Access Requests. Niall Cavanagh, Data Protection Commission, will be the keynote speaker with Paul Lavery, McCann FitzGerald, providing his observations and insights on good practice gathered from client engagements across industries. Mike Daughton, Partner in charge of KPMG Ireland’s Risk Consulting Practice, will chair the event. This will be followed by a Q&A session whereby attendees will be able to submit questions in advance of the session to provide maximum insight.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25 May 2018 and requires organisations to report breaches of personal data to the Data Protection Commission (DPC) according to prescribed timeframes. Assistant Commissioner Niall Cavanagh will be attending to provide the DPC’s perspective on reported personal data breaches. Paul Lavery, Partner at McCann Fitzgerald, will also provide practical observations and considerations for good practice in reporting personal data breaches.

In order to provide as much benefit as possible, attendees are invited to pre-submit questions – please do so by emailing education@acoi.ie ensuring that the subject line of the email clearly states Data Breach Pre- Seminar Questions. Questions must be received by close of business on 8 March and will only be accepted by email to the above address using the required subject line.

Please note that questions raised will not be attributed to any named individual or organisation. ACOI cannot guarantee that it will be possible to discuss all questions raised at the seminar.

Privacy notice: Attendees are asked to refrain from taking photos/video of the event without the prior-agreement of the ACOI. If the event is to be recorded by ACOI for training purposes, attendees will be informed.
