GDPR (The EU General Data Protection Regulation) comes into force on 25th May 2018 and to help members, particularly Data Protection Officers (DPOs), in implementing GDPR within their organisations, the ACOI is running a workshop on Advanced GDPR for DPOs.

This event will be an opportunity for attendees to hear insights and suggestions from an expert panel of practitioners, to ask questions of them and to discuss common issues with your fellow DPOs and others involved in GDPR.

This event is open to all but will assume a good working knowledge of Data Protection and GDPR.

A panel of expert speakers will include:

• John Magee, Partner at William Fry, will discuss the practice and legal implications of being a DPO;
• Mary Colhoun CDPO, Director of Data Protection, Eir, will provide the DPO’s perspective;
• Kevin Sweeney, IT Director and DPO for CPL Group, will speak as a CIO/DPO on the practicalities of GDPR in day to day operations.

The workshop will be chaired by Aisling Clarke CDPO, Director ACOI & Chair of ACOI’s DPT WG, Data Privacy Consultant.
