Programme Information

The Professional Certificate in Investment Fund Services Risk Management (Operational Risk, Conduct Risk and Risk Culture) is offered to ACOI members through its academic education partner, The Institute of Banking. The Institute of Banking is a recognised college of University College Dublin and those who successfully complete the programme will be awarded their Certificate by the university.

This is a specialist risk management programme for people working or seeking to work in the Investment Fund Services industry. The programme was designed in conjunction with operational risk professionals working in investment funds services. 

About the Programme

This two module programme can be completed in one semester i.e. 12 weeks, and consists of two modules;

  • Operational Risk Management in Investment Fund Services (NFQ Level 8, 10 ECTS)
  • Risk Management Framework, Culture and Best Practices (NFQ Level 8, 5 ECTS)

It adopts a blended learning approach of through a series of workshops, webinar and online resources. The practical workshops are a very important component of the programme and it would be important that you were able to attend these.

Two Awards

Upon successful completion of the programme participants receive two awards:

  • The Professional Certificate in Investment Fund Services Risk Management (Operational Risk, Conduct Risk and Risk Culture) (NFQ Level 8 Award) from UCD
  • The PRMIA Operational Risk Manager Certificate from PRMIA.

They can also:

  • progress to a higher Level 8 award.

&/or

  • receive 8 hours LCOI for passing each module.

Programme of Strategic Importance

This programme receives Summit Finuas Network funding. Funding is approved for a limited number of places and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Funding for modules is subject to Network funding approval. 

The Summit Finuas Network is part of the Finuas Networks Programme, managed by Skillnets Ltd, whose aim is to support the sector in maintaining Ireland’s position as a top international financial services centre, through ongoing investment in the development of the skills and expertise of this workforce.
