All You Need to Know on PRIIPs

Join us on Tuesday 19th January for a 1-hour webinar with Jan De Spiegeleer, CEO and Founder of RiskConcile. RiskConcile is a RegTech firm that provides risk and compliance technological solutions to the financial sector, mainly asset management firms and asset managers.

The webinar is case-study based and through some practical real-world examples and simulations, RiskConcile will illustrate some caveats in the current regulation that impact the Key Information Documents (KIDs) provided to the retail public. The "waterfall" approach in the calculation of transaction costs will be illustrated and challenged through different use cases.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  1. Even though the revision of the regulatory technical standards failed to get a formal sign off from all the ESAs, the proposed changes should not be disregarded as they are likely to emerge again sooner or later.
  2. The exemption of UCITS from the scope of the PRIIPs Regulation will end on 31 December 2021 and, although a second extension is not excluded, managers should start to prepare for this transition in order to be ready in due time.
  3. The calculation of transaction costs as per the arrival price method is complex and comes with a significant need for data (tick history) and data related costs.
  4. PRIIP manufacturers need to establish and maintain adequate processes (IT) to monitor the evolution of the summary risk indicator and performance scenarios of their PRIIPs in order to ensure accurate information at all times. This is especially important in times of volatility such as we have seen during Covid-19.
