On Thursday, 21st January we will have Grace Guy from the Pensions Authority join us who will share the Authority’s key findings following inspections of trustees of master trusts and defined benefit schemes under the 2020 engagement programme. Areas where good compliance was demonstrated and on the flip side where failings were identified and what the issues were as well as the actions to be taken to rectify instances of non-compliance. Grace will also discuss the IORP II Directive.

Grace Guy, Head of the Supervision and Enforcement Unit, Pensions Authority
Grace Guy is Head of the Supervision and Enforcement Unit with the Pensions Authority, the Irish Regulator for company backed pension schemes and PRSAs. The Supervision and Enforcement Unit’s core activities include investigating suspected breaches of the Pensions Act and conducting on and off-site inspections and compliance audits. The Unit also instigates prosecutions and other sanctions where breaches of the Pensions Act are found to have occurred.
Grace joined the Authority in 2010 as a legal adviser and subsequently ran the Authority’s Legal Unit. She is a qualified solicitor and has advised on all aspects of the Authority’s legal remit. She represents the Pensions Authority with other supervisory agencies, government departments and European pensions fora generally and with respect to national and international pensions policy development. Grace is currently a member of the OECD Committee – International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS) and a former member of the Law Society Pensions sub-committee and former council member of the APLI (the Association of Pensions Lawyers in Ireland).
